The final full day of school was filled with thrilling outdoor activities, as the kids enjoyed an action-packed field day. They had a blast on the slip-and-slide, tossing water balloons, and savoring snow cones. To top it all off, they were thrilled by a surprise visit from the firetruck, which sprayed them down with refreshing jets of water.

As the FBLA students begin packing their bags for their upcoming trip to the National Convention, they would like to take a moment to express their heartfelt gratitude for the generous donations they have received. These donations have been instrumental in helping to defray some of the costs associated with their trip to Orlando. A big thank you goes out to the Touchet Gardena Lions Club, the Ortiz family, Diane Niemeyer, and Nelson Construction for their generous contributions. Special appreciation is also extended to the Touchet PTO, with particular thanks to the Weisner and Crouthamel families for their generous donations, and all other individuals who have contributed to support the students in raising funds for their trip!

Our third graders spent their morning yesterday, working through robotic stations led by Mrs. Crenshaw and her daughters Kinley and Macie. In the first station students explored Z Space 3D computers. They could choose from a variety of science curriculum options like the water cycle, the anatomy of the heart, or the solar system. They were enthralled to see the inside of the heart in 3D and to be able to manipulate and dissect it virtually. Also at that same station, was a pair of Virtual Reality (VR) goggles where the students could explore different geographical regions and monuments like the Statue of Liberty. Station 2 consisted of Vex Go robot building. The students logged on to directions on their chromebooks that guided them through how to assemble their chosen robot. Stations 3 and 4 involved coding different robots using different coding strategies and commands. Overall, the students were actively engaged in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning and problem solving for 90 minutes with little sign of tiring and requesting we, β€œDo this again!” It was a great day to be a third grader!!
